Working with me
My approach to all areas of photography is one of natural, candid and simple moments. My approach to maternity, newborn, and baby photography is the same. Posed images of baby will follow a "baby-led" style which means I will follow the cues from baby and not try to put them into intricate poses if they're not feeling it. Simple props, backdrops, fabrics, and accessories are all available for use at the studio so there's no need to bring in any items of your own, unless you have a very sentimental or family heirloom you'd like included. Warm and earthy tones will always have my heart, but every session is personalized to your color and prop choices. There are a lot of moving pieces that go into the planning of these sessions, but the true magic in the image comes from the real emotion that's happening between you and your baby and that is what I want to capture for you.
Maternity sessions have an array of personalization options, from fine art studio to the warm glow of outdoor golden hour, there is truly a style for everyone. Newborn sessions are taken inside my Downtown Clare studio, typically starting at 10:00am.

When is the best time to book?
Because of the planning and time that goes into each newborn experience, I only accept a certain amount of sessions each month. It is suggested that you contact me during your 2nd trimester to get your due date on my calendar.
What Amenities does your studio have?
The studio is fully equipped with the following: client closet pieces, cozy lounge area, snacks, cold drinks, coffee area, a fridge and microwave for your convenience, play area for kids, extra baby supplies, large variety of props and colors, a casual bed setup and traditional backdrops for posing.
What are your COVID-19 Safety Precautions?
I take your baby and families health very seriously. I will be wearing a mask during the entire session and sanitize several times throughout. No other sessions are shot before a newborn session that day and the studio as well as the props and knits are cleansed and washed in between sessions. I will also NEVER shoot a session if I or someone in my home is feeling ill.
It is my distinct honor to be an affiliated volunteer photographer with the Now I Lay Me Down to Sleep organization. I service families in the Central Michigan area who are experiencing infant loss in the hospital. It is certainly never a situation that we want to prepare for, but it is unfortunately a reality that can happen. It is my duty during this extremely difficult time to aid in remembrance photography so that families can have heirloom images to last a lifetime.
