My photography journey started with photographing my friends and our adventures way back when I was around 12 years old. Since then I honestly haven't been very far away from my camera. I was enamored with the nostalgia aspect of photos. I wanted to freeze those split seconds in time and that's exactly what I want to do for you as well.
When I'm not at the studio or shooting weddings, I spend my time with my hilarious husband Nick, my beautiful daughter Johanna, and my little 3 year old guy, Jack. The four of us live in an old beautiful 1880's farmhouse and we're always finding new and creative ways to put our spin on it. I love graphic design & typography work, and if you really want to be friends with me, let's get Mexican food!
Johanna and Jack, my reason for being. These two make me go loopy on the daily, but oh when Johanna says "Mom, can you braid my hair?" and when Jack runs around the house saying "Mama, where are you?" I could just melt into a puddle. They are my favorite things to come home to after a long day.
My husband Nick is not only the funniest person I've ever met (seriously, he could be a comedian) but he's also my biggest fan. He encourages me to be the best photographer I can be and carries in my bags at the end of a long wedding day. He is an amazing father and I'm so grateful to be enjoying life with him.
If you're a sucker for beautiful orange-y golden hour light, we may just be best friends! It's my absolute favorite time to shoot so when there is a beautiful sunset peeking out, you can bet I'm there snapping away! Orange and yellow are my favorite colors too, so my heart just skips a beat when I see them!
Once I got my first taste of a destination wedding, I was hooked! I love any sort of travel to begin with, but throw in a beautiful wedding and it makes it even better! If you're considering a wedding outside of Michigan, or would like me to travel to you, let's chat!
Being a mama myself, it is such a wonderful gift to be able to capture the special moments for other mothers. Pregnancy and newborns make my heart skip a beat and I love to see eyes light up when parents see the images of their sweet new baby.
Chicago brick, original hardwoods, boho vibes. My studio is nestled in the middle of beautiful historic downtown Clare, Mi. It is equipped with professional lighting, background options, newborn & child props, a sitting area with TV, and a consultation area.
Bonus: it's just a few steps down from the legendary Cops & Doughnuts!
